Masculinity in the Latin Culture

I thought it would be interesting to add another book to the list for this class, so I have just ordered Hombres y Machos: Masculinity and the Latino Culture by Alfredo Mirande. I wanted to study the theory behind the "machismo" mentality, since it has always been an area of interest for me. I got the idea from a few Hispanic men I know, who I am pretty certain are homosexual, but will not admit it to anyone around because of their fear of being ostracized by the Latin community. I just find it interesting that masculinity is not just a gender issue; it is a cultural issue as well. More to come!
